For about five years in the 2000s, the most-visited page on the internet was a page you decorated yourself. Then profiles got standardized, feeds got algorithmic, and everyone’s corner of the internet started looking like everyone else’s.
Oddself exists because that era is stirring again. Myspace’s owners have announced a relaunch. The Top 8 and the profile song are reportedly coming back. And a generation raised on self-expression-as-a-webpage is about to get the keys again.
We do two things. First, we’re the independent record of the comeback: the Relaunch Tracker keeps every confirmed fact and open question in one sourced place, and The Away Message delivers the news that matters without the drip. Second, we’re building the creative tools for what comes next — an AI-assisted studio for themes, profiles, bios, avatars, and everything else it takes to make a page feel like a person.
Oddself is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Myspace, Viant Technology, or any of their subsidiaries. We use the Myspace name only to describe and report on the platform. We’re just people who remember choosing a profile song like it was a legal name change, and who think the weird, personal internet deserves another lap.
